I went to the Palm Store in San Francisco!

I went with Jen to San Francisco for her conference/ vacation. My big highlight while here was to check out the Palm Store downtown. I met the store manger and he was a really cool guy. He filled me in on some more details on the Foleo and also confirmed what another friend of mine had told me about the upcoming Linux-based Palm Treo's.

Hope you enjoyed your trip to the PDA Mecca. Did they offer to give you a hat or shirt? Given the branding you do for their products, they should have offered you a free Treo.

LOL! Of course. I have now heard from two sources (one Palm engineer and the manager from this store who used to be in product development at Palm) that the prototypes they are using for the Linux based Treo's include:

1) A swivel camera like what was on the Clie except that it can also be used fro video conferencing

2) A high res (640x480?) screen, landscape similar to the TX. Two versions: one with and one without a built in keyboard. The one without will use a touch keyboard like the iPhone.
